YES actually it can, because I'm not sure about the exact science, but you basically flush all the essential chemicals out of your body and it's called water toxification, I believe.
That's also how a lot of people die on Ecstasy, because they get thirsty and drink a ridiculous amount of water till they die because you flush out chemicals, I think iron.
There was some radio program that had a contest of how much water you can drink before you pee or something, and this woman ended up dying from drinking too much...:-\

Actually i heard about this woman who participated in a contest called "hold your Wii"...it was to win a new wii system...you had to drink lots of water and hold it in...that means no going to the bathroom...whoever held it in the longest won...but the lady got some sort of shock to her system from drinking all that water and holding it in that she died...sad story but it's true and i heard the people who made the contest (a radio station) is being sued.

Yes. A lady just died doing that as part of a radio promotion contest. The DJ's were fired for suggesting the stunt; they and the station are being sued.
Water intoxication is explained here:

Yes. It can unbalance the electrolytes in your system, overload the kidneys, cause uncomfortable bloating, and flood the intestines, heart and lungs with too much moisture.
People have died from too much ingestion--that poor woman who wanted to win the video system in a radio contest, for one.

There is such a thing as water sickness and poisoning, which is very rare.
Also, you could drowned, but not from drinking it.
Not to mention, there is such a thing as poisoned water.
It might depend on were you get the water from.

Yah. If your water comes from a lake or a dam, then its still dirty even though they "clean" it. People throw pills and all kinds of stuff in the water we drink. that stuff cant allwyas get out.
