My friend have always laughed at my “Posh” voice, apparently I sound a lot like Hugh Grant.
I am planning to live in America for a few months later in the year and my friends have told me a lot of Americans hate my type of English accent, is this true?

There are many English accents and very few have a stereotypical "posh" accent in England any more. No one in England likes posh accents and Americans would be no different.

u will probably get a lot of attention because Americans stereotype British people as charming and pretty accents
o yes and people in America generally like diversity and so when something new comes in they all one to know about that kind of person
Americans love foreigners

Nonsense, most Americans LOVE foreign accents! The ones who say they don't most likely are too uncultured to appreciate the enormous, interconnected world that we live in. Or they may just be too embarrassed to ask you to repeat yourself if they didn't quite catch what you said the first time around. ;-) Sounds like your friend might be a little jealous... he must know that American girls find accents sexy. Don't be nervous, and don't lose that accent!! Good luck in the States.
