I told the judge i would go to jail b 4 i would give that wench one single dime. I think in todays world it is TOTALLY a bunch of bs. The women should go out and work just like the men always do. If there are kids involved then child support is a must BUT for the ex, NOT A DIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was evidently a reason. The judge usually doesn't order alimony with no reason at all. Perhaps there are small children involved that the mother is taking after or perhaps the woman did not work during the marriage an the judge gave her some time to get qualified and get a job. The judge usually doesn't award alimony out of the blue.

I don't think that a man should have to give a woman a free ride if she turns out to be an unacceptable wife. Alimony is just a pension for legalised prostitution.

It depends. My friend is 60 yrs old and was a homemaker. She raised 5 children and when her husband started a "post retirement" job, he met another woman and left his wife. In the meantime he recieved an enormous inhearitance and built his new wife a brand new home. He left his ex wife of about 42 yrs with nothing. I think she deserves alimony.

I think alimony is ridiculous. If a couple split up then the two need to take what they get and go their separate ways.
If there are kids involved, I do think that the non custodial parent needs to pay child support but why should you pay to support another capable adult?

I think that after a divorce each person should be responsible for their own financial support. If they can't live together then the other shouldn't have to pay for the someone else's life style.
