You can find lots of lodging ideas on line (Hotels in Buena Park, Ca.) for Buena Park, California (Knott's Berry Farm). Six Flags Magic Mountain is about 70 miles away in Valencia, California, and there's very little lodging near it.
PS: If you purchase the Magic Mountain tickets at a Ralph's Supermarket with a club card (you can get one on the spot) you get a special "One adult for $34.99 & one child free" deal until June 19th.

I agree about the amount of hotels around Buena Park/Anaheim which are affordable vs where Magic Mtn is. North of there is pretty much Hollywood and Burbank which also have hotels ranging from cheap to outrageous.
