With the Republican's loss of control of the House and the Senate, and President Bush's approval rating down to a 28%, the lowest rating of any president since Jimmy Carter, do you think we will have a Democratic President in 2008?

Bill Clinton's approval rating never sunk below 40%, even when he was getting impeached!

No .... the Democrats are reassuring every day that the Republicans will probably be taking the White House again in 2008. You praise Clinton, but have you noticed we have had a Republican President the last two elections. That just shows that polls are meaningless.

At the moment I believe both Democrats and Republicans are doing an excellent job of alienating voters. It remains to be seen which will be most successful in that endeavor. That said, high approval ratings are not always a good thing. In the long run, you are known be the enemies you keep. If you never make enemies, you aren't DOING anything. Abraham Lincoln had low approval ratings during the Civil War. Note: I am not comparing any recent President to Lincoln, only pointing out that approval ratings while in office are often different than the view of history.

Yes, I do think they will lose. Nothing has changed to change the minds of the Independents and moderates who handed the House to the Democrats in November. In fact, the situation has worsened. The only prayer that Republicans have is to straighten out the mess in Iraq and clear up the perception of corruption coming from the White House. They won't because in order to clean something up you have to identify it as a mess to begin with - and they are clearly in denial. For most people in this country, handing the next Presidency to the Republicans is like expecting the next fox in line to guard the hen house. We're going to see a regime change and at this late date, it's hard to see what can change that.

I think its more than safe to say we will have a democrat for president.

in fact vegas is taking bets on this...

last time i checked a democrat is a 2:1 favorite.

Besides the democrats have control of the house and senate so its more than likely they will win over the republicans.

Yes I think they will lose. That's why they are putting out so much propaganda about democratic nominees: they're scared.

Obama cares about America (whoever told you that was misinformed), Jackie: read his book "The Audacity of Hope" and look at his website.

Since it is a choice between Obama and Clinton it isn't a sure thing that the democrats will be elected. If they could come up with someone that cared about all Americans they would have a chance.

Mark Twain said that there are three kinds of lies- you probably know the rest. Those stats need to be taken with a grain of salt. The same people who voted in '98 are voting now, so naturally, the results are pretty much to be expected. Think about it.

Ron Paul is the candidate for the Republicans:

1) He has never voted against the Constitution.
2) He is a medical doctor and no President has ever been a medical doctor. He is smart enough to find ways to get money.
3) He is against the war in Iraq.

I hope the Republicans win, it'd be as sad to vote in a democrat.

Not if Ron Paul wins the nomination.
