It is often stated that a child is the father of man. Why? For the simple reason that every child is untainted with the materialistic world! When young... one is not that confused about relationship. As we grow... so do our wanton desires and materialistic tendencies. We start giving more weightage to our materialistic possessions than relationships.
As life passes... confusion multiplies manifold. We lose grip on life. Life in itself becomes a burden. Compare this to a seeker of spirituality... one who is always serene and is the master of his destiny. Such people who practice equipoise in all circumstances live a balanced life. They have a fixed goal of life. They have mastered the flow of their thoughts. Never wavering in their decisions... such people become the guide posts for the society.
The garden of our mind requires tending at each and every stage of life. If we allow wild weeds to grow... we cannot escape invoking negative thoughts that disturbs our equipoise. One becomes wiser if we have a set pattern of thought. Unless we have a goal in life... we may become knowledgeable but never wise.
The wisdom comes from sacred scriptures. Knowledge flows from books... the written texts! If we desire success in life... we need to invoke positive thoughts all the time. We also need to establish firm control over the five senses and the mind. Gaining wisdom is not a day’s job. It takes years to assimilate the wisdom contained in the sacred scriptures. To become worldly wise... we need to indulge in all things positive and spiritual.
To follow the path of wisdom is practicing truthfulness throughout. As we grow in life... we develop relative meanings. Things simply cannot be taken on face value. We need to assert our knowledge and experience behind every decision taken. Only then we can hope to live a life full of sustained fervor and countenance. The life should get less confusing. Life experiences help you understand many things. You learn every day and from experience you faced you have gained something. You will know better how to make decicions when things get edgy.
Also you have learned to understand people's motivations and why they do things they do. You have learned respect differences in opinions. So the life could be easier.
Then you will experience medical problems, and the life is not any easier than when being young.
By then you might have gained education how to deal with illnesses better and will not panic.
Be optimistic! Learn from other people and listen rather than try impress them with your agenda. Think over what you have learned and sort out whether it will fit in your needs. Then use knowledge to your advantage. Believe me there is lot to learn when listening other people's stories. Keep life so simple that you can handle it better. Take responsibility for complicating things rather than blaming and pointing a finger to others.
This is just my story. Keep an optimistic attitude!
Cheers, A.

If an individual chooses to continue developing their mind
throughout their adulthood I doubt life could become
easier. As the mind develops it becomes increasingly
more efficient at conceiving more complex questions
and more relevant questions. If an individual chooses
to stay in a single profession after schooling and settles
into a strict repetitive routine then an individual might
not receive external motivation to continue to develop
their mind(although an individual who has a repetitive
profession can choose to motivate themselves and
continue to develop their mind). To settle into a repetitive
monotonous routine would probably be less confusing.
To identify confusion is the first step in progressively
developing the mind; finding the edge of confusion
is identifying concepts which require rationalization.

Of course things are more confusing now that you are older. Your not sixteen anymore, and everyone knows that teenagers know everything!:) Just take a few minutes each morning to breathe and take in the world. It will get better as you realize that you have absolutely no control over anything. As soon as you release the pressure of trying to make sense of it all, it will all make sense. Trust me. Been there.

It might make God seem a bit more consistent and less psychotic but there would still be plenty of issues to be confused about.

as you get old you become wiser and i feel you are wise but probably you have not got to accept yourself that is why you are still confused about who you really are. I believe you should sort yourself up and accept yourself as an individual and learn to appreciate your potentials. You are growing and time is not stagnant.

Only when you finally step out of the rat race does life begin to grow simple. It is a wondeful thing to see.
