Unfortunately . I would have to imagine it is a lot like skid-row ..never having been to skid-row . Lots of street people ; and shifty characters . Parking around there is at least 1- mile in all directions .. and I'd recommend being in a group , during daytime hours ..It's a lot like Venice Beach..without the sand .

Yes and it wasn't very exciting. Interesting to wander around some of the streets / hotel / museums, but that's about it. I was working in LA so went for something to do; I wouldn't go to LA just to go to Hollywood though.
