if your car shut off on you when you were driving and the belt broke your pistons allready hit your valves so by cranking the engine more wont hurtit but you still need to replace the valves

a timing belt isnt somehting you can change yourself. Its a very complex job. You dont just slap it on and go.

Depending on if the motor is an interferance motor or not, you could have destroyed your engine. If its not, then you may get lucky and only have to get a new timing belt/chain put on.

if its an interference motor, chances are you should look into getting a new car/motor.

Because you attempted to start it multiple times without "ignition" the raw gas has made it's way down past the pistons into the engine oil and contaminated it.

After changeing the timing belt, you may want to change the engine oil, after you make sure it runs.
