There will be plenty of pitfalls and plenty of opportunities. You'll see freedom you've not experienced before. Gone are the days of teachers leading you down the hall in single file lines. You'll be expected to get from one class to the next on time and without getting into trouble. Teachers will do less baby-sitting and expect more from you. The trade-off is that you'll have much more freedom than ever before (as I've already said). Stay away from all the peer pressure (sex, drugs, alcohol, skipping class, etc.) Really, though, high school can be a great experience. Just go to school every day and keep up with what you're supposed to be doing.

Well I was a freshmen this year and I would have to say its a lot of fun talk up to upper class men and don't try to go around picking fights with people that makes school so much easier. Don't try to hang with the popular people because most time they are not even your true friends any way. Be a trend setter. Try to stay as organized as possible keep your locker clean. Behave for substitute teachers. Always remember to study for a test even if you don't think you need to use your time wisely. Try not to be late for any of your classes. Look cute on the first day of school.=) Don't give into peer pressure make your own choices because its your life don't make anyone live it for you. Try to join some clubs or other after school activities.

MOST IMPORTANT TIP: HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!( i know i sure did!!)

Don't be that freshman that everyone hates. There's always one. She dresses like a slut, puts on way too much makeup, swears, drinks, stays up, and thinks she's being cute.

Try to be yourself. High school is very different from middle school. There are no fights, and people (minus freshmen) are more mature. Just make sure you don't get all righteous and stuff... you don't see it when you're doing it, but when you are no longer a freshman you'll see how immature most of them are.

Join clubs like ASB and whatever other clubs you may have interest in. Join a sport if you're good at anything. Try out for band if you can play an instrument. Just DON"T get caught up in the wrong crowd.

Check out the clubs! Most schools offer a variety of clubs. It is a great way to meet people. Just be friendly and yourself. Don't be bullied into anything you wouldn't normally do. And just because they say everyone else is doing "it" doesn't make it true. In the words of Shakespeare "To thine own self be true".
