I think I can answer this the best coz I often trash talk.

The art of trash talk is getting the other person's attention as well as maintaining the conversation in a such way that they are interested and even if u dont know what are u talking ur expression must be such which makes the other person feel as if we are trying to explain to them something which they cannot follow.

Now u tell me did u follow me?? lol

Art is the ultimate expression of creativity. Trash talk hurts people and suppresses the creative drive. There is no art to it.
