As several have already stated, it means British Broadcasting Corporation. It is a government-run media organisation that is one of the largest in the world. Its programs, both within Britain and Internationally are excellent and their news is extremely accurate and has the least amount of bias.
Its competition within Britain is Independent Television (ITV) and also Thames TV.
It is a (minor) part owner of Reuters Television, a British-based International Television News syndication service supplying TV news to over 185 countries around the world.
