If you are after chromosomes then 23 pairs or 46, but if you are asking copies of genes then, this could vary from gene to gene, for example the gene for colour blindness is in pairs, but gene for producing some protein might me more copies on the same genome. You might want to research more on specific genes.

--The person has an unusual number of chromosomes, as in Down Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, ...
