Paving or concrete slabs?

Which is cheaper to put down and maintain?

concrete is cheaper to install, amd needs virtull yno maintenance. Paving (paver bricks I assume) have advantages too. Pavers allow better water drainage, more flexibilty in terms of removal repair, never crack and look much more attractive then even the current stamped concrete. I had the same dilemma whn putting in my patio. With no one to help, i was able to do 1000 sf of pavers, 75 lf of 4 ft high interlocking retaining wall by myself. It looks great and has survived 3 years without even the slightest change.

Asphalt paving is cheaper however there is maintenance that needs to be done to keep it in shape
Concrete is more expensive however you wont need to do much only sweep it once in awhile. Concrete is also harder and tougher it stands up to heavy traffic better

Paving would be cheaper, Concrete would be better.

Paving is more expensive initially but as long as you get it sealed about every 2 years it is very durable. Cement slabs are very prone to crumbling and cracking .

Concrete will be cheaper in the long-run. As long as it's done right!!

I did both in my backyard.
Concrete: 15' x 30' cost me about one thousand dollars.
Order pre-mix, the truck driver will load it to your wheel-barrels, they charge extra if you pass the time limit, and clean up fee. Timing is very important when you work on concrete.
You can lay paver any time you want. Easy but time consume.
Look great. The cost start about 1.50 and up for one piece.

i'd say the slabs are cheaper.. but they are also ugly
