Nothing drives me crazier (well, maybe a few things) than to hear someone pronounce the word "height" as if it had an "h" at the end! HIGH-T not HIGH-TH!!

You must pronounce it with a "th" at the end, which is why you're confused about the spelling. Height rhymes with bite!

Height is the only correct word (not hight or highth)

Yes. Neither highth or heighth are correctly spelled words, but they're variations of 'height.' If you have any more spelling questions, you can just go to www.dictionary.com.

I hope I helped!

They'd better not be. No such words in the English language. The closest I can come up with would be 'height' - meaning how tall an object is.

hight - a command or order, be called have as a name (but no h at the end)
height - the highest part of anything, heighton to raise aloft.(but no h at the end)
But the new shorter oxford english dictionary also gives
heighth - var. of height

Height is, (and high, eight, eighth etc) but not the two spellings you use.

What do your words mean? It looks like you got the spelling wrong.

Not unless it's a really crap dictionary - there are no such words.

NO, they are words concocted by people who think they are of the same type of words as 'width' and 'breadth'.

2007-05-12 18:50:16 · answer #9 · answered by Paul 5 · 1 0

No, neither are words. They are mispronunciations of the word "height". There is no "h" on the end.
