i keep it on at night a'cause im used to a little light, but i havent turned it off for a long time

No, it's not dangerous... just means your electric bill will be a bit higher. However, the bulb may last a little longer. Each time you turn on the electricity to light the bulb, it causes a (very short) surge through the element, which technically reduces the life of the bulb. Although the savings from the bulb lasting a little bit longer may not be worth the price of the electricity to keep it on for 24 hours a day.

it wouldn't hurt to turn it off during the day to let the cord and plug cool off and then there is ur light bill, it would probably come down some.

nooo!i have a light on 24 hours a day in one room[where all my pets are]it's a halogen one though!!
