I dont know, but my boyfriends name is Bob. Maybe it is because they dont like Robert or it is just easier to shorten it to Bob.

because everyone just loves the name Bob
- easy to spell
- easy for even a child to pronounce
- three letters
- written and spoken same way as backwards or forwards
and just pretty much .. well i dont know but yeah

The same reason there are a lot of Jose's in Mexico. It's a family name that gets passed down a lot.
