A jesse ventura is someone who has turned a public entertainment persona into a political career. In other words, someone who has used their place in the spotlight to strive toward more serious goals. You could say that Arnold Schwarznegger and Ronald Reagan were both jesse venturas except that Ronald Reagan did it long before Jesse Ventura did it. Arnold Schwarznegger is truly a jesse ventura in that he did it after Jesse. You might even say that Jesse Ventura is a ronald reagan.

Jesse Ventura was a WWF wrestler who ran for governor. The people of his state, Minnesota, got so sick of the typical politicians, that he won. His win was the result of people wanting change and politicians who didn't just provide lip service!
