You have something called the proprioceptive sense . Your brain and nervous system keeps track of every thing your muscles do. If your hand is making a fist while you are holding it behind your head, and I tell you to raise 3 fingers you won't have any problem doing this, even though you can see them or count them. Your subconscious mind knows when and where you are touching yourself so the sensation is entirely different than being tickled.

there is a spot in the brain that controls reflex action movements. when others tickle you don't know how it's going to feel and thats why as there is always a reaction to action you react it by laughing..when you tickle yourself you know where are you going to tickle and how it's going to feel that's why you don't laugh you react but still you don't laugh

i don't know. i've always wondered that too! at first i thought it was because it was a surprise when other people did, but then i figured out that after they've been tickling you for a while, you know that they're gonna continue tickling you, but you're still ticklish.

i can tickle myself, but not as well as someone eslse can. ithink its because u can only laugh at something else. u r aware of it whne u tickle urself so it doesnt feel the same. when someone does it to u, u r not aware of it. it comes as a shock, then the giggles, lol.

because by tickling yourself you prepare your mind for that and you send it signals and it's not unexpected!
