Shopping is a natural high, the endorphins that are released from shopping or just window shopping are proven to elevate mood level. Depressed people who latch onto this fact are those who run up a great amount of credit card debt, and sometimes a bi-polar personality will show splurge spending. And usually, everything bought is crap in those instances. If you shop just to shop, it's like eating chocolate or a cup of pure caffiene, temporary highs.
