It your pc is restarting on it's own and it more than like has a virus.
Avast has a virus removal tool that will scan and clean viruses.

Scroll down the page to the removal tool and click "Start Scanning".
If Avast doesn't find any viruses, go to Panda like Mikey said he uses or go to TrendMicro.com to use their free virus scan.

Depending on how many processes you have running and installed software the scan can take upto two hours.
