I am looking to replace a mail slot for my door, but the problem I have come across is the ones in stores and what I have seen online are not wide or high enough. Does anyone know where a person could get on specially made?

Answering a question with a question is not my style, but here go's. Why?
If it is old and grungy take it out and have it refinished. Some of the older mail slots were made 'to order' to the door manufactuers specifcations.
If a magnet sticks to it, it has iron content and refinishing may not look good.
If a magnet don't stick to it, it is probably brass and can look beautiful when refinished.
