Usually they keep me in a straight path. It’s when I second guess my instincts that I start making mistakes. When you start noticing yourself saying “oh I had a feeling it was that”, or “I knew that would happen”, that’s my confirmation on put more thought into what I sensed that to over think something.
But I don’t believe in first impressions. I’ve worked with people who I thought would be nice turned out to be shady, and the people who appeared mean actually were just upfront and real. So On that note my advice is let people prove to be who they will prove to be, in spite what you think at first (within reason).

I tend to apply my instincts with caution watching for evidence of direction of result, and if it is in the right direction then my instinct is turned on full, if not , then the instinct is turned off and I try another approach.
