A 4.0 is an A, a 3.0 is a B so I would say it is an A-.

Clearly an A minus

The GPA is an average of your grades when they are weighted as follows:

A- 4 (100-90%)
B- 3 (90-80%)
C- 2 (70- 80%)
D- 1 (60-70%)
F- 0 (0-60%)

If you were to assign a percentage, as done above, a 3.5 would fall precisely at the 90% range, which is, by convention, an A-.

It depends on the grading scale whether an A begins at 90 or or 93 or 95.

3.6=90%
3.5=87.5%
3.55=88.75%
3.56=89%
3.555=88.875%
3.556=88.8%=B+
