My laptop suddenly stop working and whenever I turn it on it would go to this page that says
"Please highlight one of the following:
1) Save Mode
2) Save Mode Networking
3) Save Mode (something)
4) Go to last configuration
5) Start Windows up
I try doing all of those but it keeps saying some program is messed up. What do I do? Do I need to take it to a shop to fix it? And how much would it cost?

Hi Lileen

Choose the Safe mode - After a while it will come up with a dialog box that mentions Restore - click cancel in that box.

After another while windows restore will start choose restore my computer to an earlier time.

Choose a date when you know for sure your computer was working fine - follow the prompts and hopefully after your computer restarts all will be well. If not then get back to me

Your operating system needs to be fixed (may need to be re-installed). Save your files to CDs or floppies if you can.

All laptops come with a recover CD usually, that will re-install every thing as it came from the factory.. but you will lose all your work. So save the files before you do it.

If you don't know how to do this, then get help.

it could be that some of your programs are indeed messed up...that page is just normal whenever you turn off your laptop suddenly after some problem...its "safe mode..." and not save... just try updating everything you have from virus scanners to OS...=)

If you can write down the error message that you get after this screen, it would be helpful in determining what the issue is with the computer. this might usually be a Operating Systems (windows) related issue.

Before you head to the store, get out your Windows CD in case you need it, then try Windows Repair.
