I am assuming you mean a SEN teacher (special educational needs) or a tutor who helps people with dyslexia at university or college.

As I am dyslexic the main qualities I would want from a teacher who I would have help from is patience and understanding but not patriotnising. Being dyslexic is frustrating and can knock someones confidence in there abilities. They need it built up and not destroyed so being positive I imagine would be helpful as well.

Well the first quality is that you have to be dyslexic. Or did you mean qualities needed to teach dyslexic students?

Well to be a dyslexic teacher, you'd have to be cixelsyd. If you mean a teacher for dyslexic children, then I'm sure there are special education courses designed to teach teachers about dyslexia and how to educate children with it.

Sorry to be pedantic but I think you mean a teacher of dyslexic students.
Remember dyslexia covers a wide range of different literacy difficulties, and as such most Special Needs teachers have a specialised Masters degree in addition to their B.Ed.

I hope you mean "teacher of dyslexic students", not an actual dyslexic teacher....
