Much of it, yes. Stripping the continent of resources, harsh punishment and treatment of Africans, creating false boundaries.

Africa had the beginnings of civilization thousands of years before Europe and actually started the slave trade in the world.
That should give you a clue.
"What do you think could be done for Africa in the future to improve their condition? What are they doing wrong?"
Infighting.
We can't do anything but help where we can. The African people have to put aside their differences and work together the way the people in Europe, Asia and North America have done.
This is not just an African Issue, the Middle east and South America have similar problems.
Success comes to those who work together. Winning is a team sport.

Yes, it's the fault of the white European who went to Africa and built prosperous societies where there were none before and then left what they built to be destroyed by the African people who did not maintain what they had been given.
Since Africans refuse to help themselves and have some of the most corrupt governments on earth there is nothing we can do for them without colonizing Africa again and rebuilding what Africans destroyed when the Europeans left.

you won't be able to choose the whole of Africa on one united states of america. no longer all of Africa is like that, quite, very few are. I come from South Africa and we've got not something of the such there. i do no longer understand if we are able responsible white human beings for what's happening now, although i comprehend one ingredient. we are able responsible the ecu invaders for the shortcoming of progression Africa as an entire has, considering that they had approximately 4 hundred year head start up. They stripped something nicely worth something from African international places.

Yes and No
For one thing, Western Civilization was superior to African civilization for thousands of years- it was inevitable that Europe would have the upper hand in dealing with Africa.
Two, Europeans did not introduce slavery to Africa. I don't know from what imbecile you heard that. SLavery has existed for at least 4000 years. Africans themselves profited off of the slave trade.
Three- Africa is backwards compared to western civilization. Don't have the same values, traditions, and way of life. So they could never operate at the same level as Europeans.
Historically have had less education, technology, infrastructure, and good government. They have never been able to fully adapt like many Eastern states. Same goes for latin America
Four- Bad Governments that allow foreign companies to exploit natural resources with contracts not in the countries favor. Taking on debt with flawed economic approaches, flawed economic growth projections.
In my opinion, it was inevitable and it is inevitable that every people on earth will have to deal with western civilization and find ways to integrate themselves into a complex economy.
It is unfortunate because many of the problems that these people face now is due to failed efforts to integrate into the economy through failed economic development strategies. This is mostly due to corrupt and incompetent governments. it is folly to assume that had Europe not intervened in Africa that they would be anywhere near the economic levels of other countries.
Basically the problems they face now are food shortages, tainted water, pollution, unemployment (you need a job to have currency to buy food and water because their collapsed societies and inability to sustain themselves through nature now has made them miserable), Debt, corruption, uneducated people, and collasped interdependent societies.
Basically what they need is a set of strong states with a benevolent leader that can control their population, capital to invest in their country, good economic development plans, a semi clean environment to sustain rural people to prevent chaos and uprisings, mild cooperation with the world, mercantilist policies, and a whole lot of nationalism.

I've just about come to the conclusion that part of the problem has to do with the cultures of Africa. Colonialism may have a part in it as well.

Yes of course. When the white man decided to disrupt the natural order of the African countries, introduce slavery and technology and plunder the natural resources the result is chaos.
Look at Iraq today... we still think we can go in and be beneficient rulers!
We need to stop meddling in other people's affairs like we know what we are doing: let's tackle homelessness in Detroit first!
