At the IIHF venue-is that intentional or did they get a deal on a mixed lot of seats?

I can't say for sure but there is a good chance it is intentional. There are stadiums and Arenas here in the U.S. where they use things like that to help make seats look full. Harder to tell how many empty seats there are when they are different colors or something like that.

It seems to me some sections are all one colour, or mostly one colour. They also look pretty cheap and flimsy and that the arena could be fairly old. I doubt the arena has a budget worth speaking of.

My bet is the seats break at a fairly high percentage each year and:

1. The maintenance crew just doesn't care and isn't paid to care.
2. The maintenance crew scrambles to fix whatever replacement seat they can. Colour is the last consideration.
3. They take what they can get from the supplier, and that might be blue replacements this year, and yellow replacements five years from now.
4. A combination of all of the above.

Just my thoughts, I can't really confirm it.

I'm guessing it's for the same reason that they do it here in the states: makes it easier to figure out how many seats they have sold for a section (100 level I, 100 level II, 300 level III...) just a guess.

Hey, good question. I'll check back later to see if someone can actually answer this. By the way, I reported the disrespectful fool who answered first with graphic directions for placement of a pinecone. Seems to me that maybe that's his problem and it hurts him, lol.

I noticed that also ... good thing they are filled for the most part because it is hard on the eyes, that is for sure. Like the comment about the deal though .. lol.

For Juan ... it is a brand new facility.
