We are not just like animals ... we are animals. As animals, we have sexual urges. Why should we abstain from an enjoyable activity just because we don't have a piece of paper that states we are legally married? The only logical reason that people get married is because they are in love, and want to make a commitment to each other. You do not need to be ready for that just to have a sexual relationship. Are you another victim of religious brainwashing? If so, there is hope. You can learn to think critically, and deprogram your brain. Religion is a bad habit, just like adusing alcohol or drugs. It is going to be the downfall of humankind. You can see it happening at this moment. The golden rule is cool, but heaven, hell, god, and the devil are just superstition. All there is is the here and now. Live it up!

I don't think we are like animals by having premarital sex. Animals are two-dimensional. The urge to mate is strictly for procreation. Animals don't have sex for mere pleasure.

As far as humans go, I believe society has cheapened the sex act by saying that it's ok to sleep with whomever you choose. Problem is, when you do decide to marry, you have nothing special to give to that other person. Contrary to what many people believe, sex is never 'no strings attached.' You can't be intimate with someone, and completely blow it off because you can't undo the act. You will forever have a connection with that person, no matter what you say or do to convince yourself otherwise.

I waited to have sex until I was married. It was the most wonderful experience to share with my husband on our wedding night. It was something we had to look forward to. The anticipation of the new and exciting intimacy has made our marriage wonderful. To this day (3 years later) it is still very special to us.

If you are considering having sex, and have not yet done so, I encourage you to wait. The blessing you will have when you keep yourself pure is indescribable.

people have premarital sex because they dont know the possible consequenses of their actions. they dont know that there is a possibility they might get an STD or there might be an unwanted pregnancy (especially if u dont use a condom or another form of protection. the reason they do it over and over again is because they become addicts, because of the amount of dopamine in the brain that is given off, which is given off at all of lifes happy moments, but sex gives a lot more pleasure and happiness then any other event (other then drugs, which is mostly chemicals). its proven that someone can get addicted to sex, just like they can get addicted to alcohol and drugs. even if you dont get addicted, there is still the chance that you get pregnant or an STD

Your question's premise is sex before marriage is bad, which ought to be examined. Not everybody agrees with you. So, their having sex before marriage is not regarded by them as unacceptable. They believe this is an aspect of human behavior, which if you insist on the comparison, is very much like animal behavior. However, while some premarital sex is as impersonal as animal sex, much of it is a result of affection, mutual attraction, common values, etc. These folks are not behaving like anmials -- despite the fact that their behavior is worthy of your condemnation.

Why do people still get married knowing at least half the marriages fail?

People have premarital sex for the same reasons we do most anything else...love, fear, curiosity, loneliness, boredom, survival.

With the suggestion posed by your question in mind, are we like animals since they eat and we eat, they sleep and we sleep? Supposedly what separates us is the conscious mind and the choices we make.

So basically, it's all up to you. You get to decide what to do with yourself.

Thats because we ARE animals. But we overpopulate the world to an extent that even competely natural things such as sex need to be controlled. Its completely natural (and basic animal nature) to just go have sex the moment you hit puberty. In fact, sexual urges (in the extreme) are a very simian (ape-like) trait. Take the example of bonobos, who make seasoned pornstars look like sweet virgins. But we can't behave that way now. Its irresponsible and difficult handle it at that age. Now we live in a world with seperate concepts such as love and hate, logic and faith, hope and reason. The rules of the natural world are in stark contrast to the world we live in now. While you may think our world is cruel to some, well, so is the natural world. Bottom-line- if its safe-sex then it really isn't your problem what people do with their reproductive organs. A polyamorist is NOT immoral, nor is a bigamist, (nor is any other so-called "deviant") as long as they keep up the BASIC morals expected of them either by their religion, common conscience or both.

The reason why some animals sleeps just with about another sex of their own kind is because they want to pass on their gene and hence prevent themselves from extinction.

Where as humans don't. People will sleep with more than one sexual partner for various reasons. Personally I would suggest swinging rather than one love. And I 'd accept that it's ok for my partner to sleep with other people too.

From my aspect, as far as there is mutal consent, and proper protection, it's nowhere near ferel.

Is it so wrong to be like an animal? Lots of animals, penguins for instance stay with one mate. For humans, we don't just have a "pack" to choose from, but the whole world. So we want to be sure that this mate is the best to sleep with for the rest of our lives, before we actually make that decision!

We are not like animals.Animals are driven by instinct whereas man have control over his instinct and we are conscious of what we are doing and its consequences.Today premarital sex is prevalent. It is due to mostly curiosity to experiment and experience.I do not like to go into the moral aspect of it.I would prefer that we do not indulge in premarital sex as it might lead to unwanted pregnancies, jealousy and so on..In itself premarital sex is nothing.. it is a game of love. Some do it out of boredom or for pleasure or fun.If we look at it from a moral point of view it is better to wait .

... you're forgetting that we ARE animals, not some superior superior kingdom all to itself.

Premarital sex is look down upon because of the Church. That's the only reason. People are forgetting that sex is beautiful and it's what allows us to continue our species just like any other organism.
