Flavor of Love is an American reality television dating game show starring Flavor Flav of the rap group Public Enemy. While not a direct spinoff, the show was a result of Brigitte Nielsen and Flavor Flav's failed relationship on Strange Love. The show was part of VH1's Celebreality lineup and its format is similar to that of The Bachelor, with contestants living in a mansion and being put through various challenges while Flav chose to keep or eliminate them. He was helped in his quest by his bodyguard and chauffeur "Big Rick," his mother, and his former romantic partner Brigitte Nielsen.nlike The Bachelor, each contestant was given a nickname by Flav and was referred to by that nickname for as long as she remained in the competition. When a contestant was eliminated, her real name was then revealed. Another difference from The Bachelor is that instead of a rose ceremony, in which roses are given to contestants who survive elimination, there was a clock ceremony where contestants who were not eliminated received gold clocks to wear around their necks with their picture on them.

Flava Flave is was a big rapper in the 80's when he was the 'hype man' for the group Public Enemy. After starring on VH1's Surreal Life he and co-star Bridgette had a romance that spilled onto its own reality show following the two around. I can't think of the name of that spin off, but after their relationship went south, vh1 offered to produce Flava of Love in which flave tested various women (mostly strippers and the like), until he found his true love.
