I am in the military and will be away from my car for quite a while (1yr 6m) and i am wondering what the best way to store it would be? Should i drain all the fluids and put it up on blocks in a storage unit? Leave the fluids in topped off? Is it good to have it on blocks for that long? Whats the best way to do it?

Remove the battery.
Drain the coolant.
Get the tires off the ground.
Cover the car.

Or, let someone trustworthy like your Mom or Dad drive it on the weekends to the store or something.

The seals, gas, oil, and everything else will deteriorate faster just sitting there as opposed to using it.

You don't have to lift it off the wheels---just take the weight off the tires is enough.

One BIG THING you must do---to avoid moisture and rodents....if you are storing in a concrete garage you MUST hook up some kind of small fan under the car to circulate the air around it....also DON'T cover it with anything waterproof...the cover MUST breath and allow moisture to escape.

If rodents are a problem, cover up your air filter openings and tail pipe

As for fluids, either drain the gas tank or put in a gas stabilizer....not sure if stabilizer will work for 1.5 years----read the can...if not, drain it. Oil and coolant are okay as is, you can change all that stuff when you return.

If you do these things, the car should be fine. If it can't actually be driven by someone, then don't just start it for a few minutes---that would just leave fuel contaminents in the oil.

Just find a good dry indoor storage place to park it and disconnect the battery cable
