News had been saying so, and it might just be a real thing. Michael Owen may be free to go with a 9million clause, and Sir Alex is desperate for a striker to replace the injury-prone Saha. And with Newcastle having a new manager, it will be even harder to keep Oewn around at St. Jame's Park.
Imagine the partnership of Rooney-Owen. It will be perfect for Man U.
But there are also news on Man U is interested in Dimitar Berbatov too. So Manchester United fans, let's keep our fingers cross.

Why would they want him? They have better players at Manchester already and Owen's wage demands are always high. Not only that but he's injury prone. Also he's tiny. Why replace a tall guy with a small one? Rooney's far better but also not tall so he needs someone like Saha at his side. Just more paper talk. Before retiring I was a bank manager and one of my customers was a reporter for the Sun (newspaper?). He told me that they make up most of their stories when I asked him how he knew that Roy Keane wanted £40,000 a week some years ago. He said they just plucked that figure out of the air as what they thought he might ask for. Personally I don't buy newspapers any more because most of what they print is lies. This story falls in that category.

it's just another rumour! Why would they buy Owen when they have Rooney, Saha, Smith and solksjaer??
Man Utd has better player and I dont think they are interested in owen.. Owen is not as good as he used to...

Why would they want to? They are a top class side,Michael Owen is a has been. I laugh my *** off every time he gets injured - serves him right for leaving Liverpool in the way he did.

Owen is a has been. Scored 1 great goal against Argentina for England when he was fit. Now he's rubbish. He has a likeable persona, but rubbish fitness.

They might be INTERESTED, - but, the likelihood of it HAPPENING, is VERY remote! He's still under contract, at NEWCASTLE, and, has said, that he feels that he OWES them, - a VERY RESPONSIBLE act!
Most players, in today's game, haven't a CLUE, about LOYALTY and OBLIGATION, - but, - clearly, - Michael Owen, is VERY DIFFERENT! I want to see him do well, - and, get back into the England set-up, as SOON as POSSIBLE, - we REALLY NEED HIM, right now!

He has a clause in his contract to go for £9 million ,of course their interested as are many clubs in the premiership and abroad.
