I heard that there are basically 3 kinds or sth like that.the booch or sth liddat.and another 2.it actually means 3 kinds-one that looks like a boy -one that looks feminine -and one that looks neutral.
I was also wondering how the girl would easily identify the "boy" and maybe say,see her as an eyecandy. How about the neutral and the feminine? How would lesbians know whether the other is a lesbian or not since i thought only the "boy" can be easily identified.

Oh. dear, Samantha where are you when we need you.
A Lesbian is a woman who loves other women and is free to express that emotionally or sexually in same sex orientation relationship.
How any person expresses themselves is far more complex than type...and we've never had just three types based on a binary sex determination image scale.
There are cross dresser and posers, there are butches and femmes, there are two feminine women together, there are two masculine women together, there are ultra femmes, there are lipstick dykes, there are soft butches, leather dykes, bull dykes, stone butches, baby dykes (I'm betting still a favorite), drag kings and bois and those who dress down in black and vegetarians and non vegetarians and the list keeps going on.
I think you get the point.
One of the things that often signals a woman is a lesbian is her confidence and assertiveness, not her dress.
The concept of women looking either masculine or feminine or androgynous is image not substance. It is limiting and reduces the fluidity of our nature to a rigid standard as if we all have to stay the same way forever. expression is that. If it is more than expression it is gender and not abot being a lesbian.
And a woman who dresses in a more masculine fashion is not necessarily any kind of butch and anyone who goes out to clubs and hangs around young women today, Lesbian or Straight, already knows that.
You see women as "eye candy" because you are attracted to a certain definition of beauty. You never have to ask permission to appreciate beauty, and after all that just follow through, get to know the woman and her friends.
I have a bird watchers handbook to identify species, but unfortunately it's only for the feathered kind.

Types Of Lesbians

Lesbians get annoyed when ppl ask Q's of the kind..because ignorance annoys ppl. I am a bi. I personally dont ever get offended by such questions, and cannot really understand why it is too hard for the LGBTT ppl to teach others what they/we really are on being asked. Since it is out of my profession but part of my interest ;) I collected some useful info 4 u from http://lesbianlife.about.com
A butch is; A woman who adopts what would be considered masculine characteristics.
A femme is;A feminine lesbian.
Androgyny; means to have both male and female characteristics.
These are main 3 types you are talking about. Besides I strongly advise u to take a look at the site for more info if u r interested.

Wow... I am a lesbian and I am lost! Did this question make sense to anyone else?

From what I did understand someone told you that there are 3 different kinds of lesbians?

Maybe 3 different appearances...but that too would be wrong because there are no "appearance requirement" to be a lesbian. Much less just set at a standard "3"!

Another question chalked up to Ignorance!

Sorry, but your information is incorrect.

The truth is there are as many TYPES of lesbians as there are Lesbians!

We're all individuals, every one of us.

None of us are carbon copies of the other, there are no set rules or dress codes, no age, hair color, eye color, handed-ness, height or weight requirements. There are not skin color restrictions, no religious belief restrictions, no political leaning restrictions.
WE ARE EACH OUR OWN PERSON....

What is it with people who keep trying to place lesbian couples into gender roles?
WE'RE BOTH FEMALE...Deal with it.
