Add/Subtract like terms. The parenthesis here don't matter. They would only matter if you were subtracting because then you'd have to distribute the negative into the entire thing on the right.
-x^2 + 3x^2 + x + 4x + 2 + 5
2x^2 + 5x + 7
I don't know if your teacher wants you to stop there or not. If she wants it completely simplified, you could factor it, which you should know how to do.

Im assuming the expression equals 0. combine like words, so (-5)+3=-2 and 14m-22m=-8m. This simplifies the expression to -2-8m=0. including 2 to the two sides provides -8m=2. Dividing the two sides by potential of -8 yields m=-2/8. reducing the fraction provides m=-a million/4 or in decimal variety -.25.

Yeah.
Just add the like terms.
-x^2 + 3x^2 = 2x^2
x + 4x = 5x
2 + 5 = 7
