No, since sun is a star not a person. And if you are referring to the soul inside the sun (like we are in side our bodies), soul also doesn't sleep. So, either way, no, no sleep.

The sun doesn't sleep in the human way, as needing to recharge its batteries, but it does go throug a cycle of being more active and less active.

A REGULAR ebb and flow of material deep in the Sun may be linked to the mysterious sunspot cycle. Magnetic activity on the Sun produces sunspots, which peak roughly every 11 years. To try to find out why, a team led by Rachel Howe at the National Optical Astronomy Observatories in Tucson, Arizona, looked at ripples on the face of the Sun, which can reveal conditions deep beneath its surface.

Well since Japan is the land of the rising sun, wouldn't it make sense that it must go down first in order to rise? I mean, it's gotta be a lot of work heating a planet like this to everybody's satisfaction. The skiers want cold, Kenny Chesney wants heat, and the poor ol' sun has to satisfy everyone in between. That's a lotta work, so It's gotta sleep sometime, right?
