I've been with this person for about three years off and on. But I can't tell him about something that bothers me because then he flips it, brings up all these things about me. We'll be prefect for a week before we fight about stupid and pointless things. And now I feel as if I'm so use to him that put up with it.

Yes. Watch your words they become actions, watch your actions they become habits. Try talking things out if you cant then you all need to reevaluate your relationship and make the necessary changes. Good luck.

Constant verbal conflicts and arguing can not only be annoying but abusive to continue. If you cannot agree to disagree and find something you can agree on to discuss and to work on together peacefully, you do not need to be together. The answer to your question is YES.

yes it can be. if you disagree you can talk about it without fighting. fighting/name calling/insults/etc are just ways to hurt the other person, and that is abuse
