We use a Router in this house and It was all working incredibly fine until just a few days ago, i don't believe it has anything to do with the router considering nothing has changed since we hooked it up 4 weeks ago, But I torrent files and I can upload fine But my downloading speed sucks.

I have tried unplugging the router and modem so they could restart and also both computers but still on both computers the connection is oddly slow, I use the connection on my xbox and it runs fine its just on the computers now, im not sure if its just a short term thing or if this is going to be like this for a while but i would like to know how it could be corrected, thank you

Well if it were me I would by pass the router hook a machine directly to the modem and run a speed test. If this speed is slow -- call your provider.

If the speed shows normal then reconnect the router and connect only one machine and retest the speed. (You can isolate if it is modem or router with this test).

Next start connecting one computer at a time and retest the speed, if you hit a machine that DROPS the speed considerably then you know you have a bad cable, bad ethernet card, or possibly malicious software on that machine and you should be able to resolve the issue.

Since you are downloading torrents it wont surprise me that you downloaded some computer trojan that is jamming your system.

in case you're no longer extremely literate with computers, it may be precise so you might the two make a chum that is conscious approximately computers(I propose easily is conscious and not in elementary terms says they comprehend) and function them take a glance or ask a kin member that is conscious a thank you to tinker with computers, each and every person has a guy or woman like this of their genealogy, in basic terms ought to ask around. we are the gruesome and boring looking ones, xD. yet did this take place previous to those few days you suggested or plenty longer earlier? Do you do something that should be seen unlawful on the pc? Is the pc shared? no count if it is shared, do they do something unlawful or could be seen unlawful, which includes observing Porn, downloaded music it is copyrighted, downloading and or observing video clips which you're assume to purchase or hire, yet no longer limited to those issues. If definite to the unlawful issues, then you certainly've have been given gotten relatively some secret agent ware put in on your pc. often human beings could call those viruses, yet they technically are not. besides What antivirus utility do you have? in case you do not have one, acquire the trial of Avast 5.0 a approach or the different, the loose abode version one, and get it put in on your pc. additionally acquire and set up Adaware and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Spybot seek & harm . i comprehend it looks like plenty, yet those are the 4 softwares i desire to propose for each guy or woman and absolutely everyone to have put in in the event that they have a working laptop or pc it is shared with different human beings and don't understand plenty approximately computers, as those scanners will in many cases get out each and every secret agent and spyware on the gadget, no longer viruses besides the undeniable fact that, it is a thoroughly different factor which I wont pass into. in case you do take place to have the potential to get somebody that is conscious approximately computers that can assist you, have them set up improve gadget guard you besides, i does no longer propose installation this utility by potential of your self in case you're no longer extremely literate with pc utility as this scanner can now and returned do extra harm than sturdy in case you do no longer understand whats going on.
