It's possible to see the Northern Lights as far south as Florida when the conditions are good for it. I've seen them here in Pennsylvania a couple years ago...it was truly amazing! But it usually requires an unusually strong solar event to be seen south of the continental USA's northern border....like a coronal mass ejection.
