Go to start, run, type in "msconfig" without quotes. Click ok. On the top right, click startup. Then click on disable all, or use http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php to determine what you want to disable. Scroll through until you see your antivirus. Check that. Click apply, click close. Restart your computer.

My specs CPU is an INTEL Pentium II (R) 400 Mhz, 288 Megs SDRAM, Western Digital 7.85 gigabyte hard disk drive, liteon CD-R/W SOHR 5239V, Iomega 100 zip drive read/write capable, A generic floppy drive, A Matrox 32 meg video card. Plus genceric Network and Audio cards Yeah my computer is very slow. It even flunked the Diablo2 3D direct draw test... Without knowing you specs I don't know how I stack up against your system. Yeah I am planning on upgrading my system one of these days.

Yeah, both my computer are slow, one is extremely, and the other is almost ok.

I'd recommend you go to www.iobit.com, then download Advanced Windows Care V2 Personal and IObit Smart Defrag.

I use them, and they work good. My computer got faster

Have a look at your processes using Windows Task Manager to try and identify the process that is using up all your resources. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

no i got the newer version windows vista and thats the **** and my computer is so fast but my laptop is slow because i have so much **** on here because its my choice to put whatever i want on here hope you computer will stop being so slow

My computer has Pentium IV 3.4 GHz 4MB CASH, 2Gb RAM memory and graphycs card of 384 MB RAM, so I would say NO
