Twelve. Each nickel ion takes two electrons, and there are six moles of nickel, so twelve moles of electrons.

To reduce 1 ion Ni2+, you need two electrons for 1mole of ions you need two moles of electrons and for 6 moles of Ni2+, you need 2*6=12 moles of electrons
