Is it possible? I would really like my mum to watch TV without screaming every time a snake comes on.
Thanks for your ideas.

Kevin and everyone else who suggested it - Let her hold one!!! There is no chance in hell she will agree to that!
jw - Lol! XD
Psiren - Thanks! I mean, there's no harm in your method... I will ask her to try that.
♥ady_8e_80♥ - yes.. there's always therapy. Although I am keeping this at the moment to a last resort, as I think it must be possible to cure phobias in other ways...

Yes, I suppose you have a point. I mean, I'm glad that its snakes rather than something you see every day like - I don't know - shoes... but, firstly, it would be nice for someone to live life without moments of such extreme fear, and also it is very nerve-rattling that to live in a house where you are subjected to sudden fits of horrific screaming when it is least expected. I am concerned as it is having a bad effect on the other members of my family as well. Recently, for a split second, I've started to feel a shock of fear whenever I see a picture of a snake. I think that this is because we have learned to associate snakes, with my mum's screams and fear.

Well i don't know if this will help but i used to be the same and have nightmares about them too !, i saw a program on TV and it said that when you go to bed think about you being the predator and the snake being your victim, grab the snake and get angry with it, smash its head into a wall or something, drown it, cut its head off, things like that ?, i done this for weeks and now watching them don't scare me at all, and i don't have nightmares, in fact i now watch documentaries about snakes and have realised that they are more scared of humans than we are of them, and they will always try and escape from us and only attack if cornered and threatened, and now i understand them !.
I know snake lovers will thumbs down me but its only a method of getting over a fear and i would not kill anything.
Hope this helps a little ?.

I have a phobia of a different animal. It really is not as easy as you think. It takes years and years of therapy by a licensed therapist. Just taking her to see them will not help things at all, and in fact, will probably make them even worse. With a phobia, there sometimes seems to be no rationale for why we feel that fear.
Honestly, unless you're willing to shell out the money for that therapy, there's nothing you can do.
I guess you could try hypnotherapy. But I would be leery of that as well.

I have a phobia of throwing up or seeing someone else throw up. I leave the room or cover my eyes whenever someone throws up in a movie. The only solution I know is desentization or therapy to cure a phobia. If you go with a therapist, they can give you pills to deal with anxiety. They also help you talk through your fears. With desentization, you expose yourself to your fear, snakes, in gradual increments. First you look at pictures of snakes, then after that stops being scary, start watching movies with snakes, like Indiana Jones or Snakes on a Plane. After you can do all of these, you visit a pet shop and actually play with a live snake. I know it sounds scary, but it really works to face your fear. The key to making exposure therapy work is to do it very, very slowly. I am now able to watch movies with someone throwing up without feeling panic. However, I still run away when someone around me throws up. I am in a middle stage of exposure therapy. Good luck.

I bet she grabs her toes and tries to cover them too when she's bare foot and snakes are on the agenda. There is a 20 min fast phobia cure that Paul McKenna is most known for using as he's generally the one who does the TV performances but the technique used is something called Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP for short. Its actually fairly simple to do but does require a bit of practise and a good knowledge of hypnotic language patterns, although it doesn't actually require the person to be placed in deep hypnosis. Generally speaking its achieved with just light relaxation and visualisation. I've used this technique 10 or so times now and every time its been an absolute success. Some of my clients have been absolutely terrified of their various subjects for years and have tried all manner of techniques and some quite costly and have in a matter of minutes been able to do the impossible. I actually did the NLP practitioner course with Bandler Breen and McKenna which covers a whole range of things but does cost about £800 but its money well spent. Really you need to look for somebody who offers this service in your area and are licensed to practise by the society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (TM). I tell you 1 session 20 to 30 Min's and maybe £25 and she'll be looking to get herself a new pet.

Umm... snakes are not really cute and cuddly. And atleast 1% of them are dangerous. but, unless you know snakes really well ( Some non venomous varieties have markings like venomous ones to scare away potential predators) it is not advisable to get touchy feely with them. Personally, I would hyperventilate if I found a couple of snakes in my bedroom.
So . Like, why do you want to do it? I myself don't like snakes.
And Anaconda and boa vs python are not really entertaining movies either. Few movies actually have snakes in them. So why all this fuss? She doesn't need help and there is little chance of her facing snakes in real life unless she works in a zoo, or you plan to keep them as pets or of course, you want her to spen " QUALITY TIME " with you, watching Animal Planet.
I'd say, Conserve your energy for more important tasks.

First let me say that I am in the same boat with you mother. I am so very afraid of snakes! I can't see them on tv, in a book and I won't even go into pet stores with out someone scoping it out the store to see if there are snakes. If there are, I don't go in. If her fear is as strong as mine, I don't think I would recommend having her hold one, but her fear might not be as strong as mine. I would just be open with you mom and talk to her about her fear, I think the worst thing is when people laugh at me and say how silly I am being. And definetly don't tell her that "they" are more afraid of her, it doesn't help. Good luck.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

You have to understand that snakes are really harmless.Unless you hurt them they do not attack/bite.Out of the thousands of snakes you see only very few are venom carrrying/dangerous.Many people are killed by snake bite, not because of bite ,but because of fear. There is effective medicine Antivenin ( a brand name ) for snake bite.So repeat youself several times"snakes are harmless" and believe that. You will be fine.Next time even if a snake touches you will not scream.

Once infertility has been diagnosed, there are a number of treatment options available depending on the root cause of the problem. Learn here https://tr.im/3QZWc
Infertility is a condition defined as not being able to become pregnant after at least one year of unprotected, regular, well-timed intercourse. Women who suffer from multiple miscarriages may also be diagnosed as infertile. Infertility may be classified into two groups, primary and secondary infertility.
