What is Ohio law regarding a 15 1/2 year old who is pregnant and wants to marry the 20 year old father?
Also - can the parents of the teenager be charged? That hasn't been brought up, I'm just paranoid.

No lectures requested - I know this is a screwed up situation that may end in divorce, but they have known each other 3 years and might actually make it work. And no, I didn't approve of their relationship but now they will be a family of some kind since there will be a baby tying them together forever.

Yes... I know he could be charged. But... that would prevent him from being any help (no support from jail!) which he very much wants to be.

In Ohio, a child under the age of 16 can marry with a Court Order. In most cases, the judge will sign the Order of Court if the child is pregnant.

3101.04 Consent by juvenile court.

When the juvenile court files a consent to marriage pursuant to the juvenile rules, the probate court may thereupon issue a license, notwithstanding either or both the contracting parties for the marital relation are under the minimum age prescribed in section 3101.01 of the Revised Code. The license shall not issue until section 3101.05 of the Revised Code has been complied with, and until such child has been born, or it is found beyond doubt by the juvenile court that the minor female is pregnant and intends to have the child.

The parents of the girl would not be prosecuted.

I do not approve of a 15-1/2 year old girl being in a position where she becomes pregnant by a 20 year old man.

If I was the parents of the 15 1/2 yr old girl, I would bring up charges on the 20 yr old. It's child molesting, even if she said yes! And they shouldn't get married!

Addition to my answer:
If your looking for an ethical, moral answer to your question. Sometimes you just have to do the right thing for your daughter. Even if his parents/family help while he's in jail. When he gets out he can go to work and help.

If your worried about your due date , you CAN safely have your baby up to two and a half weeks "late". So I would advise that you don't rush or enduce labor , let it happen when it happens. If you don't want her there just don't involve her from this point on. Simple as that. But if she IS there then you probably can't do much she does have the legal rights since you are still a minor n all...

parents most likely can not be charged but the male can be charged and if convicted will be labeled a sex offender and for the rest of his life will have to register as a sex offender

I know you didn't ask this, but this is unlawful sexual contact with a minor.. See the web site below.

According to this web site, girls younger than 16 can get a marriage license with parental permission or since she is pregnant.
