You haven't specified what kind of a doctor. On your next question please specify. Otherwise, talk to a counselor. They provide good leads.

make sure you WANT to be a doctor and that you are PASSIONATE about all the things that doctors do on a daily basis. Can you handle blood?? Can you handle someone coming in with half an arm chopped off? Do you have the patience with a patient who refuses to stop smoking but still demands treatment for their emphysema?
I was in your shoes- a straight A student etc etc, and it was expected that I choose law or medicine as my career. So i chose law, but 3 years through uni and Im miserable because my passion is somewhere else!
If you know inside you, that there is something you REALLY want to do- go for that!! If you think it is medicine- DO YOUR RESEARCH! Read med students blogs etc online, work out if the debt is affordable, look into the pay rates of doctors, the opportunity for career change and development and think about the type of lifestyle you want.
But if you decide its not medicine- and its something that isn't as challenging(or doesn't require such a high entry mark etc)- don't dumb yourself down- set out to be the best you can be at whatever you chose!!
You are obviously a very bright young person with a lot of promise- just make sure you chose your career for your own reasons and to fulfil your own desire because it is easy to fall into the trap of trying to live up to other people's expectations. Remember, living is the longest thing you will ever do, and while the status of telling people you are a doctor would be awesome- its not going to be such a great feeling if the biggest part of your life- is an unhappy one!

You need to get a bachelor's degree first. The best colleges overall are the best colleges to go to for pre-med. You can see college rankings at sites like US News. See the link below.

You can also find lots of web sites that tell you what classes you need to take to qualify for medical school. Majoring in Biology or Chemistry is a common way to go.

After you get your BS, you need four more years in Medical School. US News also ranks the best medical schools. After you finish medical school, you are an MD -- but you still need to spend at least three years doing an internship and residency.

you are talented.first of all, you should get into medical university. you have to go to the for 6 years. first 2 years would be mostly books and books. however, after 2 years, you would really get to touch on real life treatment. you only decide what doctor you want to be after your intern. for me it costed me abt 410k. good luck
