What about a quiz where people have to match the names of babies to their celebrity parents? Or bring some baby food jars without labels and get people to guess what is in them.

Here's a few fun options: Safety Pins in Rice - Place tiny brass safety pins in a bowl of rice. Take turns blind folding people and see how many pins they can pull out in a minute. It's harder than it looks! Works best for smaller parties. Guess the Objects - Place baby related items (such as a diaper, pacifier, bottle brush, etc.) in brown paper bags. Staple shut and write a number on the outside. Everyone is given a piece of paper and a pen, and the sacks are passed around the room. Everyone must guess what they think is inside and write down what their guess is. At the end, the sacks are opened and whoever gets the most right wins. The mother-to-be is given the baby items. Diaper The Baby Game - One of our favorite baby shower games. Male and female couples are paired together to "diaper" a baby doll. Sounds easy enough, but there's a catch. The the couple must wrap the diaper to the baby using only one hand each. The other hand is not allowed to touch the diaper. This is a lesson in teamwork! The team who diapers the doll the fastest wins the prize. Pre-Addressed Envelope Door Prize Game - As guests arrive they are handed an envelope and asked to write their address on it, then it's put in a basket. One envelope is drawn, and the winning guest receives a prize. Then the envelopes (already addressed) along with the thank you cards were given to the mother, making it very easy to send. Try Not to Say "Baby" Game - Every baby shower attendee gets a baby diaper pin to pin on his/her clothes. Everyone tries not to say "Baby" during the party. When someone does, the first person who catches the slip, gets to confiscate the pin. The one with the most pins at the end of the party, wins!

Check out this web page for a ton of ideas for baby shower games:

One of my favorites is to display a diaper cake as a centerpiece, and use it to play a guessing game! Have your guests guess how many diapers and what baby supplies the diaper cake contains. They are great conversation pieces too and they really set the mood at a baby shower and get everyone talking. Then when the shower is over, the MTB can take the diaper cake home as your gift to her. So you get a centerpiece, a game, and a gift all in one, which saves you $$ when you're planning a baby shower!
Enjoy the baby shower, I'm sure it will turn out great!

1. Give everyone a Onesie and let them decorate--just buy some packs of plain white onesies in different sizes and some fabric markers (or maybe even just Sharpie permanent markers?). That would be easy to do in a restaurant.
2. This one might not be as easy for a restaurant and you'd have to prepare it at home, but buy 5-10 different kinds of candy bars (Snickers, Baby Ruth, etc.), and melt each one in a diaper in the microwave. Number each diaper, pass them around, and people have to guess what candy is in the diaper. Kind of gross but makes great photos for the scrapbook.
3. Speaking of scrapbook, buy some colored pieces of paper, give each person their own, and let them write a note to the baby on it, and maybe guess birthday, weight, hair/eye color. Could even get stickers/pretty markers so people can decorate. After the shower you can take them and put them into a scrapbook (with pictures from the party if you took any) and give it as a gift to the mom.

We had my friend's baby shower at a restaurant as well. It's a little difficult to do some of the more "traditional" shower games. We put a little quiz together - Match the baby name to it's celebrity parents. The mum-to-be is up on all the celebrity gossip so she loved it.
We also bought a mini-scrapbook and gave a page to each of the guests while they were waiting for their meals. We brought stickers and colourful markers. Each guest was to write out their favourite nursery rhyme and decorate it. We then presented the completed scrapbook to the mum-to-be as a takeaway. It's great for new mums who can't necessarily remember the words to the rhymes. Be sure to let the guests know that they should bring the words to their favourites. We also printed off some rhymes and brought them with us for those who really couldn't remember the words to their fave rhymes. It's fun and the mum-to-be got into it as well!
Good Luck!

I read in a magazine where they bought birthday cards and each guest got one and an age (1-18), duplicates as needed. Then, let's say for my card I had 15, I would write a message in the card for they baby for when they are fifteen, write a special something that will be age appropiate. That way, the child will always have a special card for each year.
The only thing is they have to be stored, but it sounds like fun.
They sell cards in groupings at most dollar stores and I know that walgreens carries a box of 12 for 1.99 or two boxes for $3.
For my shower my mom had made games like lines from famous nursery rhymes, with a word or two out and you would have to fill them in. They were all on a sheet, about 20 of them, and the person who got the most right got a prize.
She also made word scramblers of baby items.
At my cousins, we all wrote down a peice of advice for her to have as a new parent, and we read them aloud. It makes for some great stories.

1. At my friends baby showers we would get a jar place it on the floor, then put a quarter between our knees and try to get it in the jar whoever does it the longest without dropping it..wins the prize.
2.Or this one is kind of like musical chairs. Get a diaper..put a little chocolate syrup in it...its called "dirty diaper" but anyway..everyone sits in a circle to music playing..stop the music the last one w/o the diaper wins.
3.And also on a piece of paper.. write part of a nursery rhyme..then give the ppl a time limit to write the rest.
4.Last one...write down the name you want to name you child..then give everyone a time limit to think of a word that goes beside each letter.. for example.
S-Strong
T-True
and so fore..there I hope that helped. I had a lot of fun with theses games..and plan on using them at my baby shower.

I threw my daughter in law a tea party themed baby shower. There was a lot of people so I cut out tea leaf shapes and had everyone write down something about themselves that nobody else knew. At the beginning of the party I read each of the notes off. ( Hence...reading the tea leafs)
Towards the end when everybody was getting to know each other better, I had them guess who was who.
This was actually a lot of fun and we learned some very unusual things about each other.

Not crossing your legs and arms during the whole time of the baby shower until the time is announced when this game is over. If they do cross legs and or arms, then you remove a safty pin off the other persons body ( of course you will supply each guest with one safty pin to play game ) and place it on yours like a badge to let others know who is winning. at the end the one with the most is the one who made it without crossing there arms or legs and gets a prize ( a prize you will have picked and wraped, usuaully frames, candles, whatever floats your boat, doesnt have to be pricy, just fun ). Of course mrs. prego doesnt play this one. this is for the guests to have fun and the prego has fun watching something so simple be broken by all her gal friends.
another one is placing a potato (raw) on a chair and each person even prego, places it in between where ever WITH NO HANDS HELP so you have to sit on chair and minuver the potato where you can grasp it in your inner thighs/legs...and get up so careful and slowly or whatever and walk it to a box a couple steps away in front of the chair and drop it in...this is fun too. we let go of these serious attitudes life hands us as adults during these kinds of games.
another one, everyone guesses the waist size of the prego as she is that day and takes there turn mesureing the belly by eyeballing it as the prego stands up in front and moves around slowly or whatever. after each one pulls there amount off the ribbon, snap it and keep it till everyone else is done. the one closest to the size NOT OVER but below the size wins. ( another fun prize).
we played this one.....place rice in a large or medium bowl. heck even a small bowl....put safty pins, small ones in witht he rice. mix it up. make sure pins are closed. anyways, blind fold the lady up for turn and place a empty bowl next to her.....she must grab as many safty pins possible blind folded and place them in the bowl next to her, avoiding droping as much rice as possible. the one with the most count wins....this was funn too cuz rice feels like the safty pins.
then there is the baby name game. with your intire full name the guest must write down as many boy or girl names they could come up with )(depending what your having). the one who comes up with the most names wins and the one who comes up with the name you have chosen winns.
ahh, the fun memories..i can do this now cause i can not have anymore babies. so i am not afraid to remenis and share ideas without haveing to go make another baby...LOL.
have fun and enjoy.

I know this sounds silly but buy like 10 or less jars of baby food take the labels off but write numbers on the bottom of the jars and write the same number on the label that belongs to that jar. Pass out paper and a pen at the shower and ask the server if you can use a tray. Set the baby food jars on the tray and tell everyone to number their paper 1-however many you buy, than tell them to guess what each jar of baby food is. Who ever guess the most names wins. keep that tray and get some random baby items at a dollar store place each item on the tay and tell evryone to write 1- however many baby items you bought on their paper, walk around the table with the tray around everyone gets 1 minute to write down as many things as they can the person with the most baby items wins! This game is fun have the mommy to be wear alot of stuff like bralcets and sun glasses. Have her walk out of the room and tell everyone to write down what she is wearing who ever guesses the closest amount of things i.e clothes too
she is wearing wins! Now if you are get the party room this is fun to do have someone bring a baby doll with them and someone bring a baby outfit and diaper too. The outfit should be a sleeper socks body suit and hat. Bring a blind fold too! Have each person sit in a chair let them get a good look at the baby and clothes too, Blind fold them and have someone say start throw the baby doll and clothes into their lap each person has 3 mintues to fully dress the baby doll, who ever gets it more dressed wins! now the old cotton ball game have someone bring a bag of cotton ball two large bowls and a cooking spoon. Put the cotton balls into one bowl and the spoon in the other bowl. Again blind fold the person and have them sit in the chair Put the bowl with the spoon in it on their head and the bowl with the cotton balls on their lap have them hold the bowl on their head, and have someone time each person for one minute the blind folded person has to try to scoop as many cotton balls up and put them into the bowl on thier head in one minute whoever has the most wins! The toliet paper game one person including the moomy 2 be has to sit this one out, who ever sits this one out needs to take the mommy 2 be into the bathroom and take a roll of toliet paper from her belly button around her to her belly button again wrap the toliet paper than count how many squares this is means each one by its self than tear the toliet paper at the last square this would be the the one closest to the roll. Do not tell anyone how many squares around she is tell everyone to pass the toliet paper around and tear off the amount of squares they think she is. than who ever is the closest wins the game. I am all out of games I hope you like these and congrats to the new mommy!!!! God bless for the prizes get little gifts from the dollaer store like candles
