I am an Asimov fan myself...
but I enjoy Heinlein, too.
Keeping the Foundation series in mind, I vote for Asimov.

They are two of the best, so it is not easy to choose between them. I generally prefer Robert Heinlein to Isaac Asimov, since Asimov is too conscious of being clever and often spoils the effect. Heinlein seems more relaxed and does not contrive things so obviously. I like Asimov's science fact better than his science fiction.

Humm hard choice but I'd have to go with Asimov as he was a purer form of sci fi (I like Heinlein also they are both good reads)

Heinlein. Asimov's writing is too pretentious.

Ronin's answer is perfect. If you really want to know, give me a minute or two and I'll go find a coin.

This may be the most difficult question I have ever seen on this forum. My hat is off to you. Unfortunately I doubt there is an answer. Either author could win the brass ring on any given day. You get a star, and it is only my second or third.

In my book they were both authors period. If labels must be applied, then label away. But these two were special anyway you add it up. Here is my criteria for me, everyone must use thier own , of course. If an author can actualy change the way I view life and the world around me. While I got that from both of them, and I love them both dearly,
nothing ever hit me harder than "Stranger" and "Time Enough for Love"
