Egg producing animals are called oviparous.
The term mammals has come from mammae which means mammary gland. This gland produces milk. Those that actively produce milk are in lactogenic state.

Egg laying animals are called OVIPAROUS .
There are various examples,
Most FISHES are oviparous except Scoliodon and a few others, which are oviviviparous as the eggs develop inside the female's body but establish no placental connection
AMPHIBIANS such as Frogs and Toads
REPTILES such as lizards, snakes , crocodiles, turtles. However, there are a few exceptions like Viper which is Ovoviviparous
AVES or Birds
And EGG LAYING MAMMALS or MONOTREMES or PROTOTHERIANS such as Duck-billed Platypus or Ornithorhynchus and Spiny Ant Eater or Echidna
However, in the case of egg laying mammals and viviparous mammals , i.e., the ones that give birth to young ones, there is one common factor that is the female of the species have mammary glands to suckle the young ones, thus you are right the they are rightly called mammals
But they have other mammalian features too such as hair on body , teeth in sockets, warm blooded like birds, four chambered heart, etc.
Mammals are the most evolved and show a high degree of parental care.

animals producing eggs are called oviparous. the young ones hatch from the eggs with no other development within the mother.
this is the reproductive method of fish, many amphibians, reptiles, all birds, the monotremes (the mammals-echidna & platypus ), most insects & arachnids.
those animals which give birth to young ones directly are called viviparous.
eg: all mammals except monotremes.
some lizards &vipers.
a few species of frogs living in S.America &W.Africa
in fishes guppies & sharks
all invertebrates are oviparous except sea anemones & aphids.
mammals are those which produce milk and feed their young ones . including the oviparous mammals.

They are called Monotremes;
'monu'treem
1. The most primitive mammals comprising the only extant members of the subclass Prototheria
Such as anteaters, the duckbilled platypus, echidnae.
In an interesting twist, the study of birds is called Ornithology, The Ornithothynchus anatinus (or Ornithorhynchidae) is the latin nomenclature for platypus, a distinct evolutionary link used to descrie the relationship between birds and mammals.

I think birds, reptiles and amphibians. There is one mammal that produces eggs, I think, but I forget which. I believe that fish are in the group of egg producers as an amphibian, but if I'm wrong then it's birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. We eat eggs, turtle eggs, cavier, and maybe some other egg that belongs to amphibians, but I'm afraid that's all I know.

If you mean mammals which produce eggs, they are called monotremes. There are only 2 species of monotreme in the world, both natives of Australia: the platypus and the echidna.
Other egg-laying species are reptiles, birds, amphibians and fish

The duck-billed platypus and the spiny anteater are mammals that lay eggs rather than give live birth.
Such animals are called Monotremes. Monotremes lay eggs. However, the egg is retained for some time within the mother, who nourishes it.
