Regardless of the fact that the Aussies managed to tip the scale towards their side as far as ICC is concerned, cricket is gaining popularity at a slow pace... But don't know when the USA and Canada along with other European countries will start to play cricket permanently. However, i don't like the idea that lots of countries will be playing cricket. It'll be interesting to see how German, French and Italian people play cricket... I think the ICC already targets these countries....

In the USA, cricket is not a big sport. In India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, and really the rest of the world really love cricket. In India and Pakistan, the cricket team got death threats and had to come back at plane individual at night. So around the world people take cricket very seriously and it is very popular

Presently cricket is most popular in only few countries in the world. There are only 10 countries in the world who have been granted Test Status by ICC. There are 27 countries, which are associated members of ICC, where cricket is firmly established and organised, but do not qualify for full membership. Please check the following link for the names of these countries:
http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-cricket-map.htm
There are 52 Affiliated Members of ICC, where cricket is being played according to law, but not so popular.
Please check the following link for details:

ICC are trying to make the game of cricket popular in more countries.

Hi, I live in Canada.......
Honestly,in North American countries it s not that popular like Asia & Australian continents, but European continent
has few cricket playing countries, such as ,
Ireland ,Scotland, Holand,
I even heard some say that after this world cup
2007,
the interest they had now getting lesser cuz
they have gut feeling that Cricket governing
body (ICC & Mcc) are not genuine .
These fans of Cricket know what's cricket . cuz they
immigrated to Canada most from Caribean countries.
Last week end i saw two teams playing cricket in a Ground .
i taked to them.
he said icc
seem to support Australia only
so American & Canadian Fans are begining to hate
Cricket.
They are disgusted about bias attitude of ICC
even From South American country like
Guyanese guys .....who are learrning with me
& working with me part time~says,
Cricket is worthless watching cuz ,Australia is supported by ICC
