It used to, but now I realize that hypocrites are everywhere, and can't be avoided......

It can get a little annoying. My mother cannot stand it when I let my son run around in just a diaper, yet it is in the middle of summer, and it just feels better. She also thinks that I am too strict with them, I give them 3 chances and that's it, unless it is something that they already know is something they aren't supposed to do, then it's instant punishment. With 5 kids I CANT be too lenient, it is the only way to get them to mind, otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out.

I'm a Teacher--and the reason why so many kids are out-of-control is because Parents of today DONT LISTEN when people try to tell you that your kid is bad!!!!
Thats why we have 5 year old hitting their parents, and thats why we have 13 year old kids drinking, having sex, cutting school, and cursing out the Teachers--its because of Parents like you who get all defensive when people try to correct your kids. If you listen to us, you wont be crying when your 18 yr old kids tells you to go to hell because you never wanted to listen when your family, friends, and Teachers tried to warn you!

No, but it makes me mad when parents of small kids think that THEIR son or daughter will NEVER do anything wrong or act up when they see friend's kids, teens or young adults getting into a bind, or doing something stupid. Just wait!.

Of course it does. Just because one persons method of parenting differs from anothers, it doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong. It's even worse when it comes from one of those 'I spent ten years at uni studying child psychology' types who haven't even got kids.

It depends, if I've asked their opinion then I'll listen and take it onboard to think about later. If it's unsolicited I really hate that.

Yes. I always say, no one knows my children better than I do. No one has the right to criticize that which they know nothing about.
It's especially irritating when it comes from someone that is childless.

Yep, but I realize that the complainers aren't doing such a great job themselves.

Yes, especially when it comes from your own parent that didn't do such a crash-hot job themselves.
