I used to hate dealer decals. After paying all that money for a new car, the dealer should ask permission for defacing your property! However, I finally found a dealer who is so reliable, that I allow the decal to be installed. I figure it helps me get better service when I bring my car to his shop. I still don't like dealer decals though! You'd have to have it removed by the dealer's body shop when you first bought the car. They should pay an "advertising fee" to us (the car owner) for having it on the car, just like we pay the advertising fee when we buy the new car!

They are not necessary to the running or operation of the car. Those pesky decals are just advertising for the dealer. When ordering a new car, you can ask the dealer to leave it off. Getting them off is tricky, but oddly, dealers seem to have a way to do that too.

When I used to work as a mechanic people would often tell the sales person that they did not want the decal and remove it or I won't buy the vehicle, they will remove it if you make it part of the deal.

When I buy the car, I tell the dealer not to put any stickers or decals on my car, unless they are willing to pay me for advertising on my property.

Thats a good point. If we as a private individual, purchase a car, with a dealer stick on thing, technicaly, when we drive away, we are advertising their company, ware ever we go.

So, we could dicker down the cars asking price, or we could charge them for quietly advertising their car lot. If they refuse, then we have a right to have them remove that sticky thing, and tha liscense plate bracket too.
