I watched the TV show Intervention for the first time last night, and I can't help but wonder why it's even a show in the first place! Last night, Christi was the "star" of the show. She was heavily into meth and alcohol. It was unbelievable seeing somebody like that. She lost her car and her job due to her abuse. She worked as a stripper and lived in a horrible, nasty apartment. Very serious addiction. The family was weak with rules, and all of them disgusted me in the way they acted. Anyway, Christi went to rehab only to leave after 30 days. She then went to jail and served 90 days. What happened after jail you ask? The text lines at the end of the show said she went back to doing meth and alcohol 6 weeks afterwards! It didn't say anything about continued help or support from her family! So what the heck was the point of the show!?! Nobody improved and the show didn't prove anything positive! What an excuse just for entertainment.

actually it's about families who have a member who is a junkie or meth addict or addicted to gambling or some other dangerous or damaging behavior, and the family loves that person so much that they're willing to try anything to get them off the drugs or whatever. i don't think it has anything to do with entertainment, because i watched it and it wasn't very entertaining. it was actually kinda sad.

Usually the interventions do help but,you have to want to give up the addiction....the girl from last night is not ready for the help and until she is nobody can do anything...maybe she watched also and seen how ridiculous she looked and wants to be freed from the drugs and alcohol....hopefully the follow up will show her clean and sober but she's headed for death and destruction

I agree. The sad thing is that interventions can work. When Betty Ford was dealing with cancer, she started drinking heavily. Her family sat her down, told her how her drinking was hurting them and asked her to get help. She did and went on to start the Betty Ford Center which has helped millions. These shows are looking to exploit people, not help them, which is a shame.

It's what you said, making entertainment out of the screwed lives of people. They aim to make a show, not really to help.
