what affects how fast neutralisation will occur? the acdi the base? i need a small inroduction for a lab report..

The neutralisation of acids and bases is usually classed as an extremely fast reaction, since it is really a simple case of H+ + OH- ----> H2O.

Temperature will affect the speed of the reaction, of course, and I suppose that the strength of the acid or base might, but not measurably so.
